Smells Like Mr Bourne’s Holiday Director: Paul Greengrass Main Cast: Matt Damon, Greg Kinnear, Brendan Gleeson, Khalid Abdallah, Igal Naor, Jason Isaacs, Amy Ryan Thumping thriller in post-invasion Baghdad featuring a WMD-hunting team led by Roy Miller (Damon) who becomes embroiled in the cross-wired agendas of US Intelligence Agents. An action-espionage movie that partners the ‘Bourne’ franchise in style but is set against the rocket-propelled confusion of Iraq under the provisional coalition government. Compelling and audacious but with monotonously high tempo and relentless soundtrack that at times leaves you gasping for variety. The WMD backdrop feels a little politically try-hard and a somewhat stale bandwagon. Cinema Release Date: 12th March 2010 |

Smells Like a Scouse Ferry-TaleDirector: David Morrissey Main Cast: James Brough, Helen Elizabeth
David Morrissey (Nowhere Boy, The Other Boleyn Girl) is well established in the acting world, packing a powerful punch on screen time after time. But does he manage to re-create the same magic behind the camera? After a shaky opening scene, the answer is thankfully yes. With a clear and strong connection between the romantic leads, as well as pondering pans of the city and surrounding beaches of Liverpool, this is definitely a feature debut worth being proud of.

Smells like Something Really Nasty Just Happened
Director: Steven Kastrissios Main Cast: Peter Marshall, Caroline Marohasy, Brad McMurray The Horsemen is an insanely violent Australian revenge movie. Essentially, it is torture-porn - with the porn set at 2 and the torture turned to 11. As such, it is certainly an exhilarating bloodbath of a movie, but ultimately the plot makes Iron Man look like it has depth. DVD Release Date: 1st March 2009 |

Smells Like the End of Days
Directors: Milan Konjevic, Milan Todorovic Main Cast: Ken Foree, Kristina Klebe, Emilio Rosso
Classic zombie film this is not. Steaming pile of horse manure is more like it. Cliché after cliché, you can see the next plot turn coming a mile off, lacking in wit and good production values, this film is a waste of your time unless you are very very drunk and do not care what you are watching, but even then you could always stick on your much loved copy of the Evil Dead for real entertainment.

Smells Like the Plot is Leading the Character, Your Honour
Director: Michael Craft Main Cast: Matt Scully, Damien Garvey, Saskia Burmeister, Robert Mammone
Storage is a perfect example of a talented director who shouldn’t write his own scripts. Michael Craft’s debut looks great, the murky storage facility and its inhabitants set up an alternate reality that has the potential to delve into the creepy territory that Fincher explored with ‘Fight Club’ and ‘Panic Room’. Unfortunately it gets stuck under its own plot and takes wild uninteresting stabs at originality.
